Board members will now personally attend full council and committee meetings to "derive first-hand evidence of member behaviour". They will particularly focus on the planning committee planning committee n (in local government) → comité m de planificación , which has been singled out in recent years for criticism. In its first meeting members voiced concerns that even after the damning report there had been further walkouts from council committees and complaints to the Ombudsman ombudsman (äm`bədzmən) [Swed.,=agent or representative], public official appointed to deal with individual complaints against government acts. for "seemingly minor reasons". They also announced they planned to invite every group leader in the council to discuss their views of the issues facing the council and will ask the Welsh Local Government Association to provide support and training for members. |
