Board of trustees takes historic vote.

 Board of Trustees board of trustees Politics The posse of thugs who oversee an institution's administration. See Board of directors.  recently voted to reduce its size from 70 members to 21 members. The 58-6 vote came after a spirited discussion during the board's spring meeting on May 20 in Chicago.

New board members will be elected at-large, rather than as representatives of sub-units of the association. The new board will be composed of 11 citizens and 10 professionals, retaining the board's existing 51 percent citizen and 49 percent professional composition.

Trustee Lois Finkelman, who made the motion said, "It was apparent that the overwhelming majority of the trustees were ready to make this significant decision."

), an independent 501 (c)(3) organization whose sole purpose is to support the association's strategic activities. Through the NRPF Board of Governors, funds will be raised during the next several years to form an endowment A transfer, generally as a gift, of money or property to an institution for a particular purpose. The bestowal of money as a permanent fund, the income of which is to be used for the benefit of a charity, college, or other institution. , the proceeds of which will fund the work of NRPA. The board will consist of nine governors, including the NRPA chairman and another NRPA trustee yet to be named. Administrative and organizational filings and planning will be done this summer. Also in the meeting, the Board approved the fiscal year 2006/2007 budget for the association, as well as the tactics submitted in support of the strategic plan.
