Board of Airport Commissioners Authorizes LAWA To Accept SCAQMD Funds for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations.

The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today authorized Los Angeles World Airports Los Angeles World Airports or LAWA is the airport oversight and operations department for the city of Los Angeles, California.

The charging stations will be installed in LAX's new Parking Structure 6, which is scheduled for completion in July 2000. Under the contract with the SCAQMD, LAWA is obligated to complete the charging stations by Nov. 5, 2000.

These 12 new charging stations will combine with the 10 existing charging stations in Parking Structure 1 for a total of 22 in LAX's Central Terminal Area. LAX also offers a charging station in long-term Parking Lot C. All electric vehicle slots are free for recharging and parking.
