Board appoints Nominating Committee.On August 10, 2004, TEI's Board of Directors appointed the Institute's 2004-2005 Nominating Committee A nominating committee is a group formed usually from inside the membership of an organization for the purpose of nominating candidates for office within the organization. It works similarly to an electoral college, the main difference being that the available candidates, either . Pursuant to TEI's By-Laws, the committee will make nominations for Officers of the Institute no later than January 31, 2005, and other candidates may be nominated by petition. The Nominating Committee is scheduled to meet in New Orleans New Orleans (ôr`lēənz –lənz, ôrlēnz`), city (2006 pop. 187,525), coextensive with Orleans parish, SE La., between the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain, 107 mi (172 km) by water from the river mouth; founded on October 18, during the Institute's 59th Annual Conference.
