Boar to bore!

I READ with interest that the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire has a problem with wild boar. It has got so bad that the Forestry Commission The Forestry Commission (established in 1919) is a non-ministerial Government Department responsible for forestry in Great Britain. Its mission is to protect and expand Britain's forests and woodlands and increase their value to society and the environment.  has sent rangers to Germany to learn how they deal with the creatures where they are far more common.

Wild boar have in recent years returned to happy rural lives in Kent, Devon, Dorset and Herefordshire - as well as Gloucestershire - since they became extinct in the 17th century. Which is nice.

It made me recall that a few years ago we had a problem in our local pub with a wild boar. As he burst in, everybody would form a defensive circle to keep him at bay out but boars are insensitive in·sen·si·tive

 souls and he would barge right into the middle and bore us all stiff.

One of our number nicknamed him Exocet.
