Blyth Spartans have played nine games in Blue Square North this season, including outings against the top three and six against clubs in the top 10.

It has been a tough start, in which impressive approach play has sometimes gone unrewarded at one end, and punished at the other.

Tomorrow though, sees the Spartans - boosted by the arrival from Durham City Durham City could be:
  • The city of Durham, County Durham
  • The City of Durham local government district
  • The Northern League football team Durham City A.F.C.
 of goalkeeper Craig Turns - entertain struggling Solihull Moors. The West Midlands outfit would be bottom but for the 10-point deductions handed to Northwich Victoria and Farsley Celtic, and only Workington have scored fewer goals.

On Tuesday, the Moors lost 3-0 to Ilkeston Town at home.

So, easy does it? "There are no easy games in this league but it is an opportunity for us," manager Mick Tait Michael 'Mick' Tait has player for a number of clubs in England and one in Scotland these include: Oxford, Carlisle, Hull City, Portsmouth, Reading, Darlington, Hartlepool (twice) and Gretna. He has also managed two of these clubs and they are: Darlington and Hartlepool.  said.

"It makes a change not playing one of the top sides, with their big budgets.

"We had another chance last week against Vauxhall Motors when we should have won the game but drew. It was one of those nights, a wasted opportunity to get a win under our belts.

"The dressing room looked defeated afterwards, their heads were down. "Now we've got another and it's important we capitalise on it. These are the games we've been looking forward to, so it's important we make them count."

The Spartans are without Mark Doninger (ankle) and winger Adrian Webster Adrian Webster (born October 10, 1980) is a New Zealand soccer player who currently plays for Blyth Spartans in England as a central midfielder. He was born in Hastings, New Zealand.

Adrian's family moved to Australia when he was a toddler and he was brought up in Australia.
