Blunt Lambs are denied by Coburn; NON-LEAGUE.

Byline: Nick Pullen

TAMWORTH slipped back to fourth place in the Blue Square Premier after finishing with a goalless draw at Altrincham last night.

Manager Gary Mills had no complaints about the outcome even though the Lambs created the better chances.

Despite missing a string of key players, including injured England C pair Nick Wright and Alex Rodman, Tamworth carved out the clearest openings.

New loan signing Simon Russell went close on 37 minutes but his shot lacked sufficient power which enabled Altrincham goalkeeper Stuart Coburn to smoother.

Fit again Neil MacKenzie almost netted a dramatic winner for Tamworth with three minutes to go but Coburn tipped the ball over the bar.

Kidderminster Harriers allowed victory to slip from their grasp when they were held to a 1-1 draw at Forest Green Rovers.

Chris McPhee fired Harriers ahead on 16 minutes but Forest Green struck back on 54 minutes through Sean Rigg.
