Blundering Lord loses key papers; INFORMATION.

CONFIDENTIAL commercial documents were left on a train by Lord Falconer, it emerged yesterday.

Such documents are usually kept secret because they are commercially sensitive. They can push up the price of land before plans are put in place if they are made public.

Lord Falconer was due to attend a meeting of a development company 1NG, which he chairs, when the papers were lost. They were found by a commuter.

Newcastle Lib Dem LIB DEM Liberal Democrat(s) (UK political party)  councillor Greg Stone said: "Given Lord Falconer has previously held the highest legal position in the country, he should know better than anyone else the importance of keeping these details private."

A spokesman for Lord Falconer said the papers were not "sensitive".
