Bluestreak Report Unveils Unique Habits of Successful Email Marketers.

Trends and averages based on 2004/2005 quarterly aggregate data showed several organizations from various industries consistently achieving superior open and click-through rates The number of times a link on a Web page is clicked compared to the number of times it is displayed. Advertising royalties paid to Web sites are often based on click-through rate (CTR), and the amount paid per click-through is considerably higher than the cost of an ad that is displayed . To uncover the best practices that bring these results to bear, Bluestreak compared these email marketing leaders who boasted open rates over 45% (over 10% more than average) and click rates at almost 3 times the industry average, reaching an impressive 20%.

Key findings in the report include:

Subject Lines - leaders are up to three times more likely than the average to test subject lines for a campaign. Subject lines for leaders tend to be only 1.2 characters longer than average (38.3 characters) but more descriptive.

Message Content - leaders are also more descriptive in content, tipping out at almost 60 words more than the average.
