Highlighted in Total-e-B2B Release 1.1 is the B2B Partner Spoke, a lightweight B2B communications component that dramatically eases and expedites the creation of B2B spokes in a trading partner network. The new release of Total-e-B2B supports Guaranteed Message Delivery and Secure HTTP Communication bolstering communications capabilities for mission-critical information. This release introduces a Developer's Kit for Bluestone Universal Listener Framework for TeB(TM) (ULF), allowing developers to readily incorporate new applications and devices into the XML-based, Total-e-B2B framework. The upgraded ULF Management Console allows point-and-click configuration.

Easy Spokes, Enhanced Communications Distinguish Release 1.1

Based on industry standards, the B2B Partner Spoke is an Enterprise JavaBean with a 200K footprint. Users can supply the B2B Partner Spoke to trading partners for integration with their business applications, so partners access the spoke as a function of their own applications. Users may also augment the B2B Partner Spoke with code and post it to their own Web site, letting trading partners access the spoke from a browser. Both deployment methodologies eliminate the need for a dedicated server to support spoke functionality.

To guarantee delivery of mission-critical business information between the hub and spokes, Total-e-B2B Release 1.1 features Guaranteed Message Delivery. This feature guarantees message and document delivery to the hub and supports Secure Sockets Layer for secure communications. Guaranteed Message Delivery continues resending each message until it is received or exceeds its user-defined lifecycle.

In addition to HTTP, the new version of Total-e-B2B supports Secure HTTP Communication for both inbound and outbound connections between the hub and B2B Partner Spokes. Secure HTTP Communication enables encrypted data stream messaging while integrated authentication services ensure that users are communicated with intended B2B partners.

With the ULF Developer's Kit, developers can easily expand the automated application-to-application interaction capabilities of Total-e-B2B. The kit lets developers develop and configure custom listeners for any communication protocol allowing the incorporation of any application or device. The custom listener is then recognized by the Bluestone Universal Listener Framework for TeB, which monitors and acts on data communications transmitted via the communication protocol identified in the custom listener.
