Bluesocket Inc., (www.bluesocket.com) the leading vendor of open-systems solutions to control and secure Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs), today announced that Alex Kim has been appointed Vice President of Business Development. In his role, Alex will be responsible for developing strategic relationships with OEM, system integrator, carrier, technology, and marketing partners.

As a veteran with almost two decades experience, Alex Kim brings to the position a solid track record in business development, sales, marketing and operations combined with strong knowledge of wireless and IP networking technologies.

Alex was previously at InvisibleHand Networks, Inc. where he was responsible for negotiating strategic partnerships with Cisco, Equinix, and Enron, and led business development efforts with early adopters among IP-centric service providers. Before that, Alex was VP Business Development at public companies Spirent Communications and Wireless Telecom Group, where he worked directly with large customers such as SK Telecom, NTT DoCoMo, Verizon, NEC (NEC Corporation, Tokyo, www.nec.com, www.necus.com) An electronics conglomerate known in the U.S. for its monitors. In Japan, it had the lion's share of the PC market until the late 1990s (see PC 98).

NEC was founded in Tokyo in 1899 as Nippon Electric Company, Ltd.
, Samsung, Qualcomm, Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola, Nortel, and Lucent on various projects related to 2G/3G mobile systems and satellite communications. Earlier, Alex served as VP Marketing & Sales at Fibersense & Signals, Inc., Toronto, Canada and as a Networking Analyst for IBM Canada, Ltd.

A truly global executive, and fluent in English, Korean and French, Alex has extensive experience working with technology companies, carriers and enterprises to build products and drive revenues in the Americas, Asia and Europe.
