Blues MD an 'inspiration'.

SUCCESSFUL businesswoman Karren Brady will inspire a new generation of leaders who are seeking to tackle social and economic deprivation.

The high profile managing director of Birmingham City is guest speaker at the Leadership for a Better Future gathering on Monday November 17, at St Andrew's stadium.

The free session, which takes place between 10am and noon, will provide an insight into a ground-breaking community-based Foundation degree in leadership and management run by education and training institute KYRA.

The part-time course runs across two-and-a-half years. It is believed to be the first of its kind in the UK and teaches students key topics, including finance, law and communications.

Karren Brady said: "KYRA does vital work in nurturing the next generation of leaders and equipping them with the skills they need to shape a future direction for their communities.

"The Foundation degree programme offers a unique mix of subjects that suit people from a variety of backgrounds, and its emphasis on flexible learning does not get in the way of their work and personal lives."

The brainchild of Birmingham priest and regeneration and community development leader, Monsignor Daniel McHugh, KYRA is a not-for-profit organisation committed to regeneration of the community.
