Bluegreen Corporation (NYSE NYSE

: BXG), a leading U.S. developer and marketer of timeshare resorts, golf communities and residential land, today announced that it will launch a new national corporate call center in Lauderhill, Florida Lauderhill is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. As of 2006, the population estimated by the U.S. Census Bureau is 59,621. It is part of the South Florida metropolitan area, which is home to 5,463,857 people.  in June 2000, as well as open its second Indianapolis, Indiana-based regional call center this month.

Historically, Bluegreen has marketed its timeshare properties to consumers located within driving distance of one of its resorts. The new state-of-the-art corporate call center will expand Bluegreen's marketing universe to a national audience of leads gathered from the Company's new web site, national promotions and partnership marketing. The Company believes that this concept is, to a great degree, made possible by the growing acceptance of the points-based Bluegreen Vacation Club, a new system that sells consumers points as opposed to traditional weekly vacation intervals. Timeshare owners may then use these points at any of Bluegreen's 27 owned or managed Vacation Club resorts to suit their individual lifestyles and vacation desires. The Bluegreen Vacation Club is currently being sold at all of the Company's North American North American

Nick Gray, President of Bluegreen's Resorts Division, says that the corporate call center is fundamental to Bluegreen's push to enhance marketing effectiveness Marketing Effectiveness is the function of improving how marketers go to market with the goal of optimizing their marketing spend to achieve even better results for both the short-term and long-term. Also related to Marketing ROI and Return on Marketing Investment (ROMI). . "We believe that the ability to market to a wider geographic area will allow us to convert more consumers to owners."

Another aspect of the national call center is that it will emphasize permission marketing. Joe Russoniello, Bluegreen's Senior Vice President of Marketing, explains that leads gathered from Bluegreen's web site and company-promotions include vital data regarding the consumer's vacation habits and interests. "We will be calling people who have requested information and we will be able to respond with offers that are personal, relevant and anticipated. Furthermore, we will be initiating an ongoing relationship with each consumer which will lay the groundwork for convincing them that Bluegreen can deliver what we promise: a superior system of vacation experiences designed to last a lifetime."

The new corporate call center will be a 11,700 square foot facility within easy access of major bus routes and a large work force pool. It will have 72 telemarketing stations that will be expanded by an additional 48 stations in September 2000. When fully matured, it is expected to result in up to 20,000 additional prospective customers visiting a Bluegreen resort per year, according to according to

Bluegreen's second regional call center, to be located in northeast Indianapolis, complements the Company's existing facility in south Indianapolis, which has 96 employees. The new call center will total 7,200 square feet and house 124 team members. It will allow for the combination of smaller call centers, located in the Midwest and Tennessee, into one regional facility that the Company expects to deliver improved marketing efficiencies. The facility will also house recruiting and training operations for both Indianapolis call centers, centralizing these functions.

"Our Indianapolis call centers will enable us to be self-sufficient by giving us control over the generation of prospect flow to our four Midwest and Tennessee resorts and Indy off-site sales center," says Mark Teclaw, Vice President of Marketing for Bluegreen's Midwest region. "Overall, we expect the two Indianapolis call centers will result in up to 33,000 additional prospective customers visiting a Bluegreen resort in fiscal year 2001, allowing us to meet and surpass sales plans for the region at a lower cost."
