BlueStar Communications, Inc. Announces New President and Chief Operating Officer.

BlueStar Communications, Inc., a provider of broadband communications and Internet services to small- and medium-sized businesses, primarily using Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) technology, announces that Mark W. Faris has been named President and Chief Operating Officer for the company.

As President and Chief Operating Officer for BlueStar Communications, Faris will be handling day-to-day operations and overall business development for the company. He is based in the corporate headquarters in Nashville, Tenn.

With 24 years of telecommunications' experience in various capacities, Faris most recently served as vice president of network engineering and operations for Cellular One in the Washington D.C. and Baltimore, Md. region. In the years prior to that, he served as vice president of operations for Metromedia paging, vice president of sales and marketing for Cellular One and district manager for both Southwestern Bell and BellCore (now Telcordia).

Faris, a Texas native, earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University in 1976, and completed Yale's Executive Management Program in 1988.

BlueStar Communications, Inc., provides broadband communications and Internet services to businesses in Tier II and Tier III markets, primarily using DSL technology.
