 BB: CPEU) today announced that it has accepted an invitation to participate in a panel discussion on the technology of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) generation as part of a one-day workshop covering 406 Hazardous Mitigation funding. The workshop is organized by the Gulf Coast CHP Application Center and sponsored by Federal Emergency Management Agency The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is the federal agency responsible for coordinating emergency planning, preparedness, risk reduction, response, and recovery. The agency works closely with state and local governments by funding emergency programs and providing technical  (FEMA). The workshop is scheduled for August 9, 2007, in New Orleans, with the technology discussion to begin at 10:30 am. The precise venue has yet to be determined by the conference organizers.

The purpose of the workshop is to educate the attendees, including displaced non-profit organizations still trying to recover from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, on the advantages of CHP technology in disaster situations. These organizations must attend this conference if any FEMA money is to be distributed to their projects. The technology panel will include Steven P. Brandon, President of BluePoint Energy, as well as representatives of Oak Ridge National Laboratory Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is a multiprogram science and technology national laboratory managed for the United States Department of Energy by UT-Battelle, LLC.
