BlueNote Networks(TM) announced today the official launch of the company and its SessionSuite(TM) product platform. Based on open standards, SessionSuite is the first interactive communication platform built on a component-based, distributed software architecture, providing a low cost alternative to today's VoIP solutions.

SessionSuite brings together real-time, interactive communications and service-oriented architectures in a new and compelling way to advance business process productivity. BlueNote was created around the premise of fulfilling unmet customer needs for globally-reachable services via efficiently deployable and cost-effective IP telephony products.

From concept to reality

The traditional IP/PBX is based on a mainframe-like architecture that is fast becoming legacy infrastructure. Businesses with communication-intensive workflows are attempting to integrate communications with data center applications to accelerate business processes. Companies need an easy-to-integrate platform and simple, yet powerful, applications that change the way businesses communicate and operate. The traditional IP/PBX does not easily meet the demands of decentralized or distributed communication needs.

"While at Fidelity Ventures I became aware of a project to fulfill Fidelity Investments' desire for a cost-efficient internet implementation, allowing global reach and increased flexibility. It turns out that these goals are common to many other enterprises," said Tom Burkardt, chairman and CEO of BlueNote Networks. Working with Fidelity Investments, BlueNote Networks productized the concept of enterprise-class voice and video services delivered as an integrated set of data center applications. The company developed a SIP-based architecture and delivered SessionSuite IP Telephony Enterprise Edition. It is an economical, software-based IP telephony communication system offering voice and video services to users regardless of their location, while being deployed and managed as an IT application.
