BlueMountain Capital Management Hires Two New Investment Professionals to Establish European Presence; Firm to Open New London Office and Enter Growing European Market.

BlueMountain Capital Management, manager of the relative-value corporate credit fund, BlueMountain Credit Alternatives, with approximately $2.5 billion in assets, today announced that it has hired two investment professionals for the firm's London office, which will open later this spring. Jeremy Barnum and Paul Griffith join the firm as portfolio manager and senior credit researcher, respectively.

"We've seen a surge in liquidity in the European markets over the past year, and feel that the time is right to establish a foothold in Europe," said Andrew Feldstein, BlueMountain's president. "With the recent increase in the number of liquid names and products (indices, tranches, options) now in Europe, our hiring of Jeremy and Paul shows our commitment to investing in the European credit markets."

Jeremy also served as a G7 currency options trader, traded emerging markets bond and index options, exotic derivatives, and investment grade credit derivatives. He received a BA, magna cum laude, in Chemistry from Harvard University in 1994.
