(Nasdaq:BWSI) today announced that its FACT(TM) software framework and associated Resource Development Kit (RDK) will take advantage of Texas Instruments' (NYSE:TXN) new DSP/BIOS II real-time kernel and the TMS320(TM) DSP algorithm standard to simplify the integration of commercially available or proprietary algorithms into the ComStruct(TM) framework.

With the recently announced DSP/BIOS II combined with the FACT framework, developers can take full advantage of the eXpressDSP(TM) real-time software technology initiative and the expanding range of algorithms designed to the TMS320 DSP algorithm standard to create multi-channel communications applications in shorter timescales than ever before.

Blue Wave's FACT is a complete, deployable resource management framework providing an environment for users to integrate and run eXpressDSP algorithms in days instead of weeks, while FACT's functionality remains open and scalable. By utilizing the full functionality of FACT, system developers can reduce their software development time by as much as 80 percent. DSP/BIOS II underlies the DSP target side of FACT, providing the framework with the required multi-tasking and scheduling capabilities.

The FACT RDK streamlines the process of creating FACT resources and manages them from within the framework. Standard algorithms, such as DTMF, tone generation, GSM codecs, and vocoders, such as G.729 and G.723, are currently available for integration. Alternatively, with developers striving to add more value to their systems, they can easily integrate and manage semi-custom and custom algorithms and still benefit from the control and data management provided by the FACT framework.
