Blue Star Ointment Supports U.S. Troops for the Christmas Holiday.

LAREDO, Texas -- The owners of the anti-itch remedy Blue Star Ointment are committed to providing support to the American troops abroad and accordingly have donated 7,200 jars of Blue Star Ointment to the United Service Organizations, Inc. ("USO").

Founded over sixty years ago at the onset of WWII, the USO is a non-profit charitable corporation that provides recreational-type services and support for the U.S. military and their families. Due to heightened security, individuals can no longer send letters and packages marked for delivery to "Any Service Member." This restriction has limited the products available to the troops serving abroad. In an attempt to alleviate the problem, the USO, with full support from the White House and the Department of Defense, have started a relief package named Operation USO Care Package. The care package, consisting of the generous donations from American corporations, provides the amenities and comforts of home to both families and service members during these trying times. The USO will send 30,000 care packages to the troops over the holiday season.

Honored to be a participant in the program, the Blue Star Ointment family has officially signed on with USO, becoming a product sponsor and is proud to have the opportunity to provide Blue Star Ointment to the soldiers stationed abroad who are suffering from pain and itching due to athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, psoriasis, dry cracked hands and feet as well as any other minor skin irritations. "We're so grateful to the Blue Star Ointment company for donating over 7,000 jars of ointment to Operation USO Care Package," said Elaine Rogers, President of USO-Metro. "This program would not be as successful as it is without the generous support of such companies."
