Blue Shield of California Foundation Names Three New Executives.


SAN FRANCISCO San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  -- The Blue Shield of California Blue Shield of California is a not-for-profit health insurance provider headquartered in San Francisco, California. An independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, Blue Shield of California is an incorporated, wholly owned subsidiary of California Physicians'  Foundation today announced it has hired new executive staff to lead the Foundation's programs devoted to increasing health care assess and using technology to promote health, as well as its department of finance.

 has hired Brenda Solorzano as Director of Health Access, Lisa Payne Simon as Director of Health and Technology, and Brittany Imwalle as Director of Finance and Administration.

"These three women bring the vision and experience we need to energetically pursue our mission," said Crystal Hayling, BSCF president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. . "Our goal is to support programs that prevent domestic violence, improve health care access for the poor and uninsured, and that assess the safety and efficacy of new medical technologies. Lisa, Brenda and Brittany each will play a critical role in our efforts to improve the health and lives of all Californians."

Brenda Solorzano, as Director of Health Access, will lead BSCF's largest program area. She will direct the grants made to organizations that promote improved access to health care for the state's underserved communities. Prior to joining BSCF, Ms. Solorzano held leadership positions at the California Endowment, the California HealthCare Foundation and the California Medical Association.

Lisa Payne Simon will lead BSCF's Health and Technology program, where she will direct efforts to promote evidence-based clinical practice and technology adoption to improve the health of individuals and communities. Payne Simon came to BSCF from the California HealthCare Foundation, where she was one of the founders and key organizers of the Quality Initiative.

Brittany Imwalle will oversee BSCF's finances and operations. She has considerable experience in both the healthcare industry and in management consulting Noun 1. management consulting - a service industry that provides advice to those in charge of running a business
