Blue Seal acquires Mass. competitor.Londonderry-based feed supplier Blue Seal Inc. has purchased United Cooperative Farmers Inc., a Fitchburg, Mass.-based competitor, for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition comes on the heels of another deal, which took place in February, when Blue Seal acquired I.L. Richer Company of Sangerfield, N.Y., a company specializing in dairy feeds. The February merger resulted in the spinoff of a new company, Blue Seal Richer Dairy Nutrition.
