Passengers take a trip back in time on vintage climate controlled rail cars. For the more adventuresome, open air cars allow riders to enjoy the fresh air and cool mountain breeze as the train gently rolls along the tracks.

The 2004 season opens with a "Springtime in the Mountains" celebration April 2-10, when the train will run daily at 11 a.m., except on Sunday when it departs at 1 p.m.. Springtime ticket prices are $22 for adults, $18 for seniors (65+), and $11 for children ages 2-12 through May. Tickets are half price for groups of fifteen or more and for individuals with special coupons on Mondays through May 24. Children under 2 are free if they sit on a parent's lap.

The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway will be closed Easter Sunday and begin its regular spring schedule running Friday, Saturday and Monday at 11 a.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. from April 12 to June 7. The train runs through the end of the year and features daily rides during the summer months as well as Fall Foliage and Christmas Express trains in October and December. Rates and schedules can be found on the website.
