New Sun Fund and the Calgary Foundation are the first donors of the 2009 Blue Quills First Nation College fundraising campaign. The donation will support a conference at Blue Quills that showcases Aboriginal musicians, artists and scholars from across Canada who might provide leadership roles to the students. The conference will be developed by faculty members of the new Indigenous Artists Program."It is seed gifts like this that will allow our college to continue to develop meaningful and successful programs that support our philosophy of bridging indigenous and western knowledge," said Leona Makokis, PhD., president of Blue Quills First Nations College in Treaty Six territory in Alberta.
