Blue Pearl Begins Public Consultation Process.

TORONTO -- Blue Pearl Mining (TSX VENTURE:BLE)is pleased to report that it has initiated a public consultation process regarding its plans to develop the Davidson molybdenum deposit situated near Smithers, B.C.

In late April, Blue Pearl Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ian McDonald made presentations to Smithers Town Council, the Smithers District Chamber of Commerce, the Hereditary Chiefs of the Office of the Wet'suwet'en and the Bulkley Valley Community Resources Board. The Company's Chief Operating Officer, Ken Collison, and Vice-President, Peter Tredger, also attended to provide detailed information.

Advance notice of the Chamber of Commerce meeting was advertised in The Interior News, a community newspaper published in Smithers that serves the town and surrounding area. Approximately 150 people attended the meeting and participated in an open-ended question-and-answer session following a presentation by Mr. McDonald. An unsolicited online poll undertaken by The Interior News following the public meetings indicated that the Company's plans were supported by a margin of 72 to 28.

"Any commercial development, including a mining project, is bound to raise questions, which is why we initiated these public forums," said McDonald. "We want to address concerns now, while the project is in the planning stage. We also want to know of concerns that may arise as we move forward, so we are opening an office and information centre in Smithers this summer to provide information on the project and to hear from people in the community.

"Right now, our conceptual plan for the project, subject to a full feasibility study, is to build an underground mine which will minimize the visual impact. We are also considering an internal shaft and conveyor system to transport crushed ore to the nearby rail line in order to minimize disruption."

Blue Pearl was formed in early 2005 to develop the Davidson molybdenum deposit (formerly known as the Yorke-Hardy deposit). Based on a technical report compliant with National Instrument 43-101 and filed on SEDAR, at a cut-off grade of 0.2% MoS2, the Davidson property is estimated to contain a measured and indicated mineral resource of 83.0 million tons grading 0.295% MoS2 representing 293.5 million pounds of molybdenum (please refer to the Company's Material Change Report dated Jan. 26, 2005, and Technical Report dated February 16, 2005 and filed on SEDAR on March 7, 2005). The current producer price for molybdenum is approximately US$35 per pound. Gary Giroux, P. Eng., is the independent qualified person in accordance with National Instrument 43-101 and has read and approved this news release.

Blue Pearl currently has 23,320,000 shares issued and outstanding. On July 23, 2005, a further 16,960,382 shares will be issued pursuant to a financing that closed March 23, 2005, which raised total gross proceeds for the Company of $10.3 million.
