Blue Moon(R) Wins Top Awards at the 25th Annual Great American Beer Festival(R).

GOLDEN, Colo. -- Once again, Blue Moon beers have received the highest honors at the Great American Beer Festival, earning medals in two categories. The orange-honey-wheat lager Blue Moon Honeymoon achieved the gold medal in the Specialty Honey Lager or Ale category, and Blue Moon Chardonnay Blonde, which is brewed with San Joaquin Valley Chardonnay grapes, received the silver medal in the Fruit and Vegetable Beer category.

This year, 105 judges evaluated more than 2,400 beers from more than 450 breweries in 69 categories. The Great American Beer Festival judges tasted twelve variations of Blue Moon, including Blue Moon Belgian White[TM], the brand's signature brew. All of the variations are based on the unfiltered ale's award-winning recipe of three grains - barley, oats and wheat - with hops, coriander and orange peel to provide the right amount of spice.

"There are certainly a number of great tasting beers in the competition every year, but our Blue Moon beers continue to please the judges because the ales are full of body, yet balanced and smooth," said Ken Hehir, brand director for Blue Moon.
