Blue Man Group will release their first, full-fledged rock n' roll album The Complex featuring guest collaborations with Dan the Automator, Tracy Bonham, Esthero, Josh Haden, Dave Matthews, and others. The Complex will be in stores April 22nd, 2003.

Blue Man Group founders, Matt Goldman, Phil Stanton and Chris Wink recorded The Complex at their enigmatic New York New York, state, United States

facility, where they were able to record as well as build the wide array of unusual invented instruments used on the album. Aided by the help of some of today's most intriguing vocalists, Blue Man Group has successfully moved beyond the instrumental category and has catapulted full force into the rock world.

According to Stanton, "We think the whole point of collaboration is to create a special alchemy that pushes the work into an unpredictable new place, and the whole point of making a rock album is to shake things up and push the whole music scene to a new place as well."

While recording the album, the trio simultaneously created and developed a technically superior concert event that will correspond with the album. The tour will undoubtedly raise the bar on state-of-the-art concert technology, while combining elements of performance art, rave culture and rock n' roll.

"Our concept from the beginning was to make a record that would fuel a groundbreaking rock concert experience," commented Wink. Adds Goldman, "It's been a while since music fans have been given an album that was linked to a visceral, over-the-top, rock concert event, on par with that of a Pink Floyd.
