Blue Lobster Software and Synkronix Partnership Provides Complete Legacy Re-Engineering Solution.
Stingray, Mako and PerCOBOL Combine to Give Mainframe Developers
Cross-Platform Application Development Solution That Requires No
Additional Language Training
Blue Lobster Software, a leading provider of legacy-to-Web connectivity technology, announced today the signing of a partnership agreement with Synkronix Inc., a leading provider of innovative technological solutions for legacy applications.
The agreement will enable Blue Lobster Software to provide mainframe developers with unique cross-platform connectivity and application development solutions, rounding out its offerings for re-engineering legacy applications and strengthening its position as a leader in Web-to-host technology.
Within the last year, Blue Lobster Software has released two products that mark a departure from traditional Web-to-mainframe tools and applications that require proprietary servers and scripting languages. Mako Server(TM) and Stingray Software Development Kit (SDK)(TM) set a new standard for Web-to-mainframe connectivity and both products have been certified 100% Pure Java(TM) by Sun Microsystems.
Together, these tools offer a choice of either connecting to the mainframe via 3270 terminal emulation, or connecting directly to CICS through ECI. Stingray SDK enables users to create Java based applets and applications that can communicate with any mainframe application through 3270 terminal emulation from any platform supporting Java.
The Mako Server delivers Java clients that allow users to communicate with any ECI enabled CICS application transparently using a Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) interface.
"In the next twelve months, most mainframe applications will be Y2K enabled, and their developers will be looking to build applications that extend their use "By adding Synkronix's PerCOBOL(TM) to our toole the time to invest in new language training. , to completely re-engineering applications." is COBOL development environment includes an ed any JDK 1.1(or greater) implementation of the evelopment and maintenance," said Charles Townse cross-platform functionality and re-engineering capabilities while allowing them to maintain and leverage their legacy software investment. PerCOBOL allows legacy programmers to continue using COBOL while enabling them to write once and deploy anywhere. Best of all it really doesn't require re-training, therefore it reduces the cost and complexity of software systems maintenance."
