Blue Emerald Resources: Indonesian Project Update.

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 1996--BLUE EMERALD RESOURCES (VSE:BER OTC BULLETIN BOARD:BEMRF) Derek Bartlett, President of Blue Emerald Resources Inc., is pleased to report that a reconnaissance visit to the company's Indonesian project by Peter Howe, the company's Indonesian consultant and President of Diadem Resources Ltd. and Waseco Resources Inc., and Mike Bird, Vice-President of Waseco, has confirmed the presence of numerous gold bearing structures on the Blue Emerald / Waseco (45 percent/45 percent) Walang Property (Indonesia). The Walang Property consists of 7625 hectares and is situated on the northwestern margin of the Bayah Dome. This area has been compared geologically to the East Kalimantan Dome complex hosting the Busang deposit of Bre-X Minerals.

Additionally, the property is known to cover extensions of the epithermal gold veins discovered by the state mining company on the immediately adjacent Cibaliung Property where 5 (five) mineralized zones with a combined strike length of 1.5 km have been reported.

Grab samples taken from trenching on the Cibaliung Property have yielded grades ranging from 0.6 g/tonne to 70.85 g/tonne of gold.

Artisanal miners are currently working on the Walang Property and have indicated that they are achieving gold recoveries of approximately one ounce per tonne taken from selectively higher grade material. Exploration is underway to locate, sample and map all the mineralized surface exposures in preparation for a proposed diamond drill program.

Timmins, Ontario Projects

The Company further reports that it has entered into two option agreements covering the company's 15 and 16 claim units located in Price Township, Ontario.

Firstly, Blue Emerald has granted (subject to regulatory approvals) an option to Meranto technology Inc. (CDN) to acquire a 50 percent interest in the company's 15 mineral claim units located in Price Township, Ontario. To earn their 50 percent interest, Meranto has agreed to carry out exploration up to and including 3000 feet of diamond drilling on one or more of the claims within two years of the agreement. The consideration for this transaction is $7000 and 100,000 common shares of Meranto. A 3 percent NSR is payable to the original vendors.

Secondly, Blue Emerald has granted (subject to regulatory approvals) an option to Findore Minerals Inc. (CDN) to acquire a 50 percent interest in the company's 16 mineral claim units also located in Price Township, Ontario. In order to earn its 50 percent interest, Findore has agreed to carry out exploration up to and including 3000 feet of diamond drilling on one or more of the claims prior to the second anniversary of the agreement. The consideration called for in this agreement is $7000 and 66,000 common shares of Findore. A 3 percent NSR is payable to the original vendors.

The properties are located southeast of the Band-Ore Resources project, which is located southwest of Timmins, Ontario.
