Blue Diamond Award Finalists Announced.


CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Judges for the 18th annual Blue Diamond Awards have announced the finalists for the awards, which are known as Charlotte's most prestigious technology honor.

The finalists were chosen from more than 50 nominees to advance to the final stage of judging. All finalists will be recognized during the awards ceremony on March 27th at the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center The North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. It opened in November 1992 after three years of construction. The center was designed by renowned architect César Pelli. , and the winners will be announced live on stage. The finalists are:

The Dr. Richard Neel Award for Career Achievement: This honor is given to an individual, based on recommendations from a committee; therefore there are no finalists.

Two of the award categories, Best IT Innovation and Best IT Business Value, are divided by company size to ensure that each nominee is competing with like-sized companies. To be eligible for a Corporate award, companies must have annual revenues of $250 million or more and have been in business for more than three years. Small to Medium business are those that have been in business for more than three years and have annual revenues less than $250 million. The Top Growth award, open only to small to medium businesses, does not include the three-year restriction.

The Blue Diamond Awards were created in 1988 to recognize technology-based solutions and contributions made by Charlotte area companies and individuals. ITC is a Charlotte Chamber council created for professionals who have an interest and focus on the IT community and with the objective of putting Charlotte on the technology map.

The awards ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Belk Theater. A cocktail and heavy hors d'oeuvre reception in Founders Hall will immediately follow the awards ceremony. Tickets to the event are available online. Ticket prices are $75 for ITC members and $85 for non-members. A block of eight costs $580.
