Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico announces new president and chief operating officer.

The appointments were announced today by Lee Bray, chairman of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico board.

Bray said Becker's new position gives him the responsibility for directing the health management companies' operations, including enrollment growth and financial performance.

"Norm has a strong focus on customer needs along with the commitment and expertise to achieve customer expectations." Bray said. "This is a new chapter in our continuing desire to give consumers and employers access to quality health care at affordable prices."

Becker joined the company March 1, 1996, as regional vice president. Prior to joining the company he held a similar post with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nevada for six years. From 1982 to 1990 Becker was director of group sales Group sales
