Blue Chip Value Fund declares first-quarter distribution.


DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 1, 1997--The directors of Blue Chip Value Fund Inc. have declared a distribution of 22 cents per share Cents per share

The amount of a mutual fund's dividend or capital gains distributions that a shareholder will receive for each share owned.

This distribution is payable April 25, 1997, to stockholders of record April 11, 1997, and will have an ex-dividend date Ex-dividend date

The first day of trading when the buyer of a stock is no longer entitled to the most recently announced dividend payment ( i.e. the trade will settle the day after the record date, too late for the buyer to appear on the shareholder record and receive the dividend.
 of April 9, 1997.

This distribution represents approximately 2.5 percent of the N.A.V. and is the first distribution under the Fund's return to its previous policy of distributing approximately 2.5 percent of N.A.V. on a quarterly basis. As of March 31, 1997, the N.A.V. was $9.05 and the stock closed at $8-3/8 with a discount of 7.5 percent.
