Blue Barn Interactive Announces Agreement with MTVi to Provide Online Community Management Services.
NEW YORK--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Dec. 13, 2000
New York-Based Online Communications Company to Take on Moderation of
Mtv.com, Vh1.com and Sonicnet.com Message Boards
New York City-based Blue Barn Interactive (BBI) announced today an agreement to provide Membership and Moderation services to communities of The MTVi Group (MTVi), the world's leading online music entertainment company. MTVi has retained BBI to deploy professional community managers on message boards across MTVi's network of destinations, which include MTV.com, VH1.com and Sonicnet.com.
"Our network of sites offers some of the most popular and engaging online communities on the Web including VH1.com's Fan Clubs and Sonicnet.com's Artist Bulletin Boards," said Fred Graver, GM of the VH1 Group, a division of MTVi.
As high-profile online communities like MTVi continue to increase membership and expand their breadth of services, companies are increasingly recognizing the value of outsourcing moderation services to community experts like Blue Barn.
"We are delighted to work with MTVi's innovative and popular online communities," said Marcy Kaye, co-CEO and co-Founder of BBI, "MTVi has always been at the forefront of exploring online applications that in some way anticipate the new convergent entertainment media."
This agreement marks another considerable achievement for the Silicon Alley company, whose client roster reads like a Who's Who of Alley-based content publishers: Time Warner, Bolt/AOL, Martha Stewart Living, and A&E Networks. BBI's current growth trend and profitable status - anomalies by present-day New Economy-standards - has set it apart from its competitors in the Community Management space.
Ms. Kaye adds: "In our four years of operation our belief of the importance of managed community has only become clearer. A brand's audience is perhaps its most valuable online asset, and optimal interaction with that audience requires significant experience in the online environment, expert knowledge of the user and the deployment of trained, professional moderators. This is BBI's approach to managed community, and more and more clients like MTVi are acknowledging its value."
