Blue Bamboo Unveils the H50 - the Industry's Most Affordable Wireless Terminal.

SHANGHAI, China -- Blue Bamboo, a provider of feature-rich and advanced point-of-sale (POS) technology, has unveiled its first product -- a GlobalPlatform standards-based, wireless terminal -- the H50. Priced as low as $199, the GSM/GPRS H50 is the most affordable terminal in its class, while boasting the ability to support multiple applications, as well as portability and great power management.

The H50 supports the Java-based Small Terminal Interoperability Platform ("STIP" or GlobalPlatform) standards for easy application development. The unique H50 implementation of the GlobalPlatform standard and its proprietary hardware design ensure superior performance: the Blue Bamboo terminal is faster than typical Java-based POS terminals. Even resource-intensive encryptions (such as 1024bits RSA private key encryption) take less than one second.

The wireless H50 is a versatile handheld device that offers merchants several connectivity modules. The serial port module allows the user to connect to their mobile phone to go online. Other modules are available for regular telephone lines, GPRS/GSM networks and USB for ECR or PC.

Blue Bamboo's terminal is portable, and powered continuously with two Lithium-ion cell batteries that are both re-chargeable and replaceable for ease of use and economy. Its advanced power management protects the terminal from unexpected power fluctuations.

In addition to abiding by GlobalPlatform standards, the H50 will be an EMV-compliant terminal; Blue Bamboo expects to achieve certification by Q1 2005. It also supports the Visa Smart POS application, and can be utilized in a broad range of solutions.
