Blown film gauge rotates continuously.

A new capacitance capacitance, in electricity, capability of a body, system, circuit, or device for storing electric charge. Capacitance is expressed as the ratio of stored charge in coulombs to the impressed potential difference in volts.  thickness gauge from Kundig International Inc., Wellesley, Mass., dispenses with hard wiring and transmits data to the operator station by RF signal. This permits the gauge to rotate in a full circle around the bubble (claimed to be a first) rather than oscillating os·cil·late

in 180[degrees] arcs. Kundig has quietly sold the Rotomat 550 for three years. The RF-transmission approach was originally developed for use on a mammoth mammoth, name for several large prehistoric elephants of the extinct genus Mammuthus, which ranged over Eurasia and North America in the Pleistocene epoch.  5.5-meter-diam. bubble in Monroe, La., which was the largest in the world. Hard wiring would have been too cumbersome for such a big system.

Since then, the Rotomat 550 has been used for bubble diameters from 0.15 to 2.5 meters. It can use either Kundig's contacting or recently introduced "cling-free" thickness sensor, model KNC-200. As the bubble flutters, the KNC-200 moves in and out, riding on a 0.005-in. air cushion air cushion
