Companies in the North-East have seized the chance to tap into the multi-billion pound wind energy market at an event in Northumberland.

More than 60 firms will pack the Developing the Wind Turbine Market event at the New and Renewable Energy Renewable energy utilizes natural resources such as sunlight, wind, tides and geothermal heat, which are naturally replenished. Renewable energy technologies range from solar power, wind power, and hydroelectricity to biomass and biofuels for transportation.  Centre (NaREC) in Blyth on Tuesday.

Officials from two of the energy sector's key global players - GE Wind and FKI FKI Free Knowledge Institute  De Wind - will offer companies the chance to make key new contacts.

The North-East is already established as a major international wind energy player in a UK market expected to swell to pounds 3bn nationally.

More than 50 companies are presently involved in the wind energy supply chain within the North-East.

Andy Williamson, One NorthEast cluster manager A Cluster manager is a small service on each node of the cluster and it does active and desactive available services. Cluster Manager should create a specific list of node auth, manage and repliace it to each node.  for renewables, said: "Historically, the North-East is a globally renowned energy provider with outstanding capability and a proven track record in offshore marine engineering, construction and power generation.

"This event is a great opportunity for our firms to demonstrate the strength of the North-East supply chain and the potential economic benefits new business will afford.

"The region can showcase itself as the place to do business and attract new investment to stimulate the wind energy market both across the UK and internationally."
