Blow molding machine-hour rates.In answer to readers' requests, Plastics Technology presents our first survey of machine-hour rates charged by custom blow molders nationwide. We followed the same model used for our highly successful injection molding injection molding n. For that reason, we decided to report the first results, however limited, so that you can judge for yourselves. We propose to mail out a similar survey in early April. The rest depends on you. More responses will make the results more accurate and enable us to report on more types of blow molding--such as injection-blow--and perhaps even report the results by geographic region. In general, blow molders said they were busier in June 2005 than in December December: see month. 2004. More than 71% reported higher capacity utilization Capacity Utilization measures the rate at which a firm makes use of their capital productive capacities, such as factories and machinery. Capacity Utilization generally rises when the economy is healthy and falls when demand softens. in the first half of 2005, and only 7% said their utilization was lower. The remainder (22%) saw no change.
