has decided to rejoin Brymbo after only one appearance for the seasiders.

Lloyd, 16, who is in the Glamorgan Academy, has been hailed by a number of observers as a potential England Test player having produced some spectacular scores to propel him into the limelight.

Bay skipper Graeme Jones said: "We are very sorry to be losing both players but especially David because of his tremendous potential.

"It seems that a combination of the greater travelling demands imposed and the higher expectations in the Premier Division have seen him return to Brymbo and play in the North Wales League.

"I believe this could be a decision he will live to regret but you have to accept it and we wish the lad all the very best.

"I felt that the chance of playing in this level of cricket would accelerate David's progress in the game but he is still a young boy and we are very sorry he won't be with us."

Lloyd, a pupil at Shrewsbury School where he is coached by former Worcestershire professional Paul Pritchard, is the son of former Wales and Uefa international football referee John Lloyd.

Second-placed Colwyn Bay will have batsman Charlie Clubb and returning all-rounder Stuart Brandom back for today's game against Wallasey and tomorrow's delayed League Cup tie against Burscough, both at Rhos-on-Sea.

Jones said: "This means we are pretty much at full-strength for the first time."
