The older and simpler kind of incinerator was a brick-lined cell with a metal grate over a lower ash pit, with one opening in the top or side for loading and another opening in the side for removing incombustible masses called in Knowsley Village has stirred passions in the area. It is unfortunate that Ron Round and other elected members felt threatened and abused by some residents. Equally, one would hope that they can appreciate the extreme disappointment that the local residents feel in the way that their elected councillors have disregarded the opinion and interests of the residents. This is not in any way to condone condone v. 1) to forgive, support, and/or overlook moral or legal failures of another without protest, with the result that it appears that such breaches of moral or legal duties are acceptable. the situation if indeed any abuse occurred, but having attended the previous council meeting on the matter those same residents were praised for their exemplary behaviour and patience with matters. Perhaps if Mr Round and at least 11 of his fellow councillors had paid a little more attention to the feelings of their electorate then this outcome would not have arisen.
