Bloomsburg Woman Wins a 'Spectacular' Prize from Lottery.

A Columbia County resident is a top prize winner in the CASH SPECTACULAR instant game.

Betty Lou Moyer, 64, recently won $120,000 on the Lottery's $10 instant ticket.

Ms. Moyer will receive her check from the Lottery on Wednesday, December 18, 2002, at 11 a.m. during a special presentation at Sheetz 2511 New Berwick Highway, Bloomsburg, where the winning ticket was purchased.

The Lottery's Deputy Marketing Director of Corporate Accounts Maria Logan and District Lottery Representative Robert Jacobs will present Betty her winnings check for $120,000, less 27 percent federal withholding.

Betty bought three instant tickets, then gazed through the glass at the CASH SPECTACULAR ticket.

"I asked the clerk if she could tell me the number on that ticket. The number was 24 ... and 24 is my favorite number," Ms. Moyer recalls. "I never pass up an opportunity when the number 24 is involved - so I said, 'I'll take the ticket!'"

Betty's grandfather was born on the 24th and that is why 24 is her lucky number. It so happens 24 was a special number for Betty on that day ... she scratched off the ticket and won the spectacular top prize of $120,000!

Betty, a retired school teacher, was raised in Bloomsburg and taught school in Elizabeth, New Jersey. When she retired in 1993, Betty returned to Bloomsburg. With her Lottery winnings, Betty plans to take a 10-day bus trip to Michigan and Wisconsin along with her family and friends.

The top CASH SPECTACULAR prize is $10,000 a month for one year - made in a one-time payment of $120,000. When any of YOUR NUMBERS match any of the LUCKY NUMBERS, you win the prize shown under the matching number. When the prize under the matching number is "$CASH$," you win $10,000 a month for one year! There are 15 chances to win on each ticket.

CASH SPECTACULAR has over $10 million in total cash prizes and more than 200,000 prizes between $20 and $200! The overall odds of winning a CASH SPECTACULAR prize are 1-in-3.40.
