Bloomberg TV extends Asia reach via PAS-2 satellite; PanAmSat Asia-Pacific now transmits more than 40 TV channels.

 Asia Conference, HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 30, 1995-- PanAmSat has added Bloomberg Information Television to the all-star programmer line up on the PAS-2 Pacific Ocean Region satellite.

Bloomberg will tap into PAS-2's trans-Pacific coverage to achieve first-time access to Australia's 6+ million television households as well as other major television markets in Asia.

. With the addition of Bloomberg, PAS-2 now transmits more than 40 analog and digital television channels throughout the Asia-Pacific Region.

Bloomberg Information Television is a 24-hour television news service offering in-depth reporting and analysis of financial news and markets worldwide. The service features up-to-the-minute news and information gathered through the Bloomberg Business News Network, an international newsgathering organization consisting of 350 reporters and editors in 60 bureaus worldwide. In addition to television, the Bloomberg Business News by-line appears in over 800 newspapers in 25 countries worldwide. Bloomberg Information Television and Bloomberg Business News are services of New York-based Bloomberg Financial Markets.

PAS-2, which was launched in July 1994, has 16 Ku-band and 60 C-band transponders.
