Bloodlet.

"I HAVE TO TELL YOU MAN, I'M REALLY, REALLY stoked stoked
adj. Slang
1. Exhilarated or excited.

2. Being or feeling high or intoxicated, especially from a drug.

thrasher

Any of 17 species (family Mimidae) of New World songbirds that have a downcurved bill and are noted for noisily foraging on the ground in dense thickets and for loud, varied songs.
. It's been my dream since a kid to be in Thrasher, but always with a skateboard!" While Bloodlet singer Scott Angelacos' skating skills may not have exactly landed him in the mag, certainly the return of his band into the head of hardcore ranks from a four-year hiatus is enough to sing praise of. After all, Bloodlet mapped out the blueprint for evil metalcore, so, while imitators commence trembling and sleepless nights proceed to get darker and scarier, Bloodlet is back and brimming with pathological heaviness.

for a band with a sound like yours. How did this choice came about?

We talked to the label about it. He did a bunch of our friends' (Neurosis neurosis, in psychiatry, a broad category of psychological disturbance, encompassing various mild forms of mental disorder. Until fairly recently, the term neurosis was broadly employed in contrast with psychosis, which denoted much more severe, debilitating mental ) records and we were, just stoked--it was a totally obvious choice for us. He's done a bunch of bands that we were into when we were younger, like. The Jesus Lizard
Jesus Lizard can refer to three things:
  • Jesus Lizard, a common name for the basilisk lizard genus, known for being able to run across water
  • The Jesus Lizard, a band formed in 1987 in Chicago, Illinois, United States that disbanded in 1999
, Big Black, and he did some Helmet and some Nirvana.

Were you intimidated or nervous at all to work with him?

I was nervous at first but he made us feel right at home I cant even explain it, he was awesome; it was nuts He spent six hours mic-ing the drums and changing things around to get the right sound but once he got all the sounds he liked it was really laid back and everything flowed. We recorded everything pretty much live and did a couple guitar aver dubs.

So, the big question: What got Bloodlet together again?

We took a long break, we were pretty burned out from touring so hard. It had been four years and we had all moved away from each other, and we just kind of came back together and started playing again. We were always jamming with other projects and stuff in the meantime Adv. 1. in the meantime - during the intervening time; "meanwhile I will not think about the problem"; "meantime he was attentive to his other interests"; "in the meantime the police were notified"
meantime, meanwhile
, but we just got baek together down here in Florida.

Three Humid Nights in the Cypress Trees, where did this title spawn from?

It's actually a line from our lyrics. When we were kind of feeling out names-for the record, Art was going through my lyrics and just kind of pulled that out of the title song and it stuck. It painted an interesting picture. The album has some connecting songs and that was one that just stood out.

The three "Learn to Fly" songs, "The Way of the Leeches Leeches Definition

Leeches are bloodsucking worms with segmented bodies. They belong to the same large classification of worms as earthworms and certain oceanic worms.

Leeches can primarily be found in freshwater lakes, ponds, or rivers.

 or an afterthought?

The songs kind of had running themes going through them and, then we named them all together. So, the songs that we. named do have some correlation with each other, but we didn't start off with a plan to do that.

Well, what are some of these themes then?

Murder.

Anything else?

There are really dark, haunting images--there are these moments in them. I try to write from a moment. One song is about a guy who has problems dealing with people, and he takes a bunch of social-type of drugs, Paxil and the like, and he goes to a party and proceeds to start a fight 'cause he thinks he's right, but he gets his butt kicked in the end. They're all just stories. Some stories are connected in the album and that's why they have similar titles.

What do you do outside of Bloodlet, hobby-wise?

Skateboarding, lots and lots of that I play with a yo-yo and I go bowling.
