Blood on his hands; eastenders the one to watch.

THEY look like they're having the best day of their lives - but if Denise really knew what kind of man she was marrying, she wouldn't be smiling.

Lucas, played by Walsall actor Don Gilet, is not a man to practise what he preaches. While he thinks a terrible sin is sleeping with his fi-ance before they wed - even though they've already had a child together - he doesn't have quite such a dim view of murder.

In fact, he's a very angry man struggling to control his darker side, which certainly comes out on his wedding day.

He's already dispatched his ex, Trina, and now Denise's ex Owen is the thorn in their side that he has no compunction in removing, even if he ends up with blood on his hands again.

Lucas thought he'd solved the problem by getting Owen carted back to prison, but he's released the day before the wedding. He gatecrashes Denise's hen night, during which she wears a fetching tiara, veil and feather boa, and we get to see Tameka Empson and Robbie Gee as her sister Kim and boyfriend Lee. Owen tells Denise her groom is dangerous - he's convinced, rightly of course, that he had something to do with Trina's death.

She doesn't listen to him, soOwen pops up again on the day of the wedding and needles Lucas into losing control so badly that they have a very violent confrontation.

The ceremony goes ahead and Denise is delighted to be married. She's even more pleased next day when she sees that, where there was once a big hole in the middle of the Square, there's nowa memorial tree to Trina. But Owen seems to have completely disappeared...so might there be more than tree roots in that hole? And how long will it take Denise to discoverwhat kind of man she married? Frankly I don't know which is worse, scenes of violence or those of Ian Beale, naked, in a hot tub. His idea of the height of sophistication is to eat chips from a lilowhile luxuriating in the bubbles. He's delighted with his new purchase, which signals to Max that he must have some spare cash. He tries to con him into buying insurance but Ian is clever (and miserly) enough to turn him down. Masood, furious that Ian is wasting his money on frivolities when he owes them money, remarks that a hot tub's no good if you have no one to share it with.

Peggy's rather worried that Sam has disappeared, particularly as the pounds 250,000 they put up for her bail looks like it will vanish after her. A policeman arrives with a warrant for her arrest, along with a nasty loan shark who turns up at the Arches - it turns out Phil acquired his contribution to the bail fund from a dangerous source.

Phil later has a run-in with the bloke,whowants to take his beloved Jaguar. Surely not! He'd rather sell the Arches to Pat, much to Peggy's annoyance. Plus, Manda discovers Darren is George's dad.

FANCY THAT: Don met Tracy Whitwell, mother of his two-yearold son Flynn, when he was naked and covered in baby oil - filming 55 Degrees North. He changed his surname from Gillet (rhymes with fillet) to Gilet (pronounced jilay).
