Blood Brothers' epic tale as popular as ever as it arrives in north east.Byline: Martin Green LAST night a star was born in the latest production of Blood Brothers. With actor Sean Jones Sean Jones might refer to:
This is no mean feat when you consider Blood Brothers veteran Lyn Paul was on inspired form, while the rest of the cast performed with vibrancy and raw emotion. Cooper was outstanding. He threw himself into the role, galloping about the stage in a performance of pitch-perfect visual comedy. Towards the end, he captured Mickey's sinister qualities brilliantly. On its 25th anniversary Willy Russell's epic tale is as popular as ever and this production is lovingly acted, technically assured, and capped by Lyn Paul's stunning voice. Simon Willmont plays posh twin Eddie with deadpan comic timing and excellent restraint. Elsewhere Middlesbrough actor Graham Martin relished his scenes as the policeman/teacher - the crowd hanging on his every line. Blood Brothers worked well as a stirring piece of musical theatre. The score is potent and the undercurrent of ominous arpeggios maintains a high level of suspense. This is a picturesque performance guaranteed to please fans. Martin Green |
