Blonder Tongue Celebrates the Year 2000 at NCTA in June.

Blonder Tongue Laboratories, Inc. (AMEX: BDR), a manufacturer of electronics and systems equipment for the franchised and private cable television industries, will exhibit at the National Cable Television Association (NCTA) Show, June 13-16 at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago.

This convention is one of the largest in the industry. Last year, 375 companies exhibited and over 30,000 cable operators attended.

This year Blonder Tongue will be celebrating a smooth passage into the Year 2000 via "iCentral". BT debuted this product last month and preliminary reviews are exciting. iCentral is a complete Y2K compliant subscriber management system that has the ability to remotely control up to 56 headends, eliminate ingress via complete return path management and manage Pay-Per-View events. Multiple iCentral units may be networked via Ethernet connections. The iCentral output to multiple headends provides a true dial-up platform for simultaneous connections. The system allows for a multi channel line-up with multiple time zone management.

Blonder Tongue will also be showing DPC Link, which was developed to provide high speed Internet access to those living outside digital areas with use of Hughes Network Systems DirecPC(TM) service. The Blonder Tongue DPC Link is a technological breakthrough consisting of a high performance Agile Satellite Converter matched with Individual Subscriber Upconverters. It also eliminates the need for individual subscribers to own a satellite dish, making it the ideal solution for multiple dwelling unit properties. The DPC Link equipment is independent to individual subscriber selections regardless of the level of DirecPC service.

New high performance Fiber Optic product line additions including the 'TWIN STAR' L-band Fiber group and the FOMC Fiber Optic Management Hardware series, enhanced 'TRAILBLAZER' and 'RETRO-LINX' branded AM/VSB Transmitters and Receivers will be exhibited. These products are designed to deliver unparalleled performance for a moderate price. Blonder Tongue's Fiber Optics product line is broad enough to fully satisfy the transmission needs of all the popular TV signaling schemes: analog, digital QAM, and digital QPSK.
