Blogger's Choice Awards Crosses 200,000-Vote Mark, Becomes Internet's Biggest Blog Competition.

Over 11,000 Blogs Entered to Date In 36 Categories; Rosie O'Donnell, Jenna Fischer, Meredith Viera, Madonna Among Celebrity Bloggers Nominated

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Blogger's Choice Awards, the largest fan-determined blog competition on the Internet, announced today it has garnered over 200,000 votes from more than 75,000 individual users since its launch last April. Online viewers are encouraged to vote soon for their favorite blog at www.bloggerschoiceawards.com, as voting officially ends at 11:55 PM Eastern Daylight Time on October 19, 2007.

Blogs are nominated by the fans and voted on by readers themselves. Winners in the competition's 36 categories will be revealed on November 10, 2007 at a gala award ceremony in Las Vegas. The event is being held in conjunction with PostieCon 2007, the first annual blogger's convention produced by PayPerPost.

"Perhaps the most gratifying thing about the Blogger's Choice Awards, beside the interest of thousands of readers from around the world, is the support from nominees," said Ted Murphy, CEO of PayPerPost, the site's corporate sponsor. "Many of the 11,000 nominated bloggers are requesting support from their loyal fans, or even campaigning to win. Despite the lack of a formal marketing program for the awards, support has mushroomed via social networks, message boards, online forums and chat rooms. The grassroots efforts have resulted in a level of interest not anticipated by award sponsors.

Among the 36 "Best of" categories established for the competition are classifications for business, pop culture, food, politics, health and religion. Voters will find a "Hottest Mommy Blogger" and a "Most Obnoxious Blogger" category; perhaps the most popular of all is "Best Celebrity Blogger" where the likes of Rosie O'Donnell, Madonna, Meredith Viera, The Tonight Show's Ross the Intern, and Jenna Fischer of NBC-TV's "The Office" have attracted top votes so far.

Blog fans may vote for as many blogs as they like, in multiple categories, as long as they adhere to the competition's rules and regulations. Nominations are still being accepted; however, each blog site may only be nominated in a maximum of four individual categories.
