Blog and e-zine?


Last issue we wondered why anyone would have both a blog blog, short for web log, an online, regularly updated journal or newsletter that is readily accessible to the general public by virtue of being posted on a website.  and a free e-zine. Yes, one of them, to get higher search engine rankings--and to attract prospects. But surely not both of them, which appeared to double the free content going out the door.

What uses are there for both? Here's what one publisher wrote: "The e-zine sells products. The blog is for SEO (Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Optimizer) See search engine optimization.  and to establish us a thought leader. Also, the blog provides feedback to our ideas, which we then use to write articles and books."

What incentives are given for signing up for the free e-zine? Most cited were free reports and free, limited-time access to an online article database.
