Dave's next challenge will be the London Marathon The London Marathon is a road marathon that has been held each year in London since 1981, usually in April. In addition to being one of the top five international marathons run over the traditional distance of 42.  on April 26 when he hopes to raise the cash needed to help the Kidney Kids appeal at Birmingham Children's Hospital Birmingham Children's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust manage the central Birmingham hospital now also known as The Diana, Princess of Wales Children's Hospital, which provides general and emergency health care services to children in Birmingham, the West Midlands and beyond. .

The 51 year-old, from West Bromwich, visited the health unit earlier this week to learn more about the plans to relocate the renal unit to a bright, purpose-built space.

He will lead a team of 15 runners backing the appeal, including World Karate Champion, Scott Campbell, who accompanied Dave on the tour of the hospital.

Dave said: "My Dad died in 1995 after suffering kidney problems."

The Kidney Kids Appeal hopes to raise pounds 1.5 million. So far pounds 445,361 has been raised.
