Expanded Client Relationship to Drive Seamless Workflow Across Care Environments and Financial and Administrative Areas

ATLANTA -- Eclipsys Corporation[R] (NASDAQ: ECLP), The Outcomes Company[R], today announced an agreement with long-term client Blessing Hospital (Quincy, IL) to deploy the company's Sunrise Enterprise[TM] revenue cycle solutions. The decision stems from Blessing's goal to transform workflows by replacing legacy mainframe technology to achieve an enterprise-wide, advanced information technology (IT) platform that will bridge the data gap between care delivery environments and financial and administrative areas.

According to Pat Gerveler, Blessing Hospital's chief financial officer, Eclipsys was selected based on known value and the desire to move from an interfaced to an integrated IT environment. Revenue Cycle Solutions to Enhance Financial Workflow and Outcomes

Plans call for Blessing Hospital to implement integrated applications within Eclipsys' Sunrise Enterprise suite of solutions -- Sunrise Patient Financials[TM] with Dashboard, Sunrise Enterprise Registration[TM] and Sunrise Enterprise Scheduling[TM]--components of which are delivered on the XA extended architecture[TM]. These solutions will cover the entire revenue cycle and are designed to improve Blessing's workflow efficiency, reduce claim denials, accelerate cash collections and improve the bottom line. For example, the integrated technology environment will enable updated patient information in the back-office financial system to seamlessly flow into front-end access solutions to help prevent reoccurring billing issues upon subsequent patient visits. In addition, Blessing expects to enhance staff effectiveness at registration desks, in particular, the verification process for insurance eligibility to reduce the errors and omissions that lead to denials. At the same time, the health system anticipates significant cost savings by replacing an existing third-party service for denials management.

Blessing Hospital's revenue cycle initiative will leverage its highly successful use of Eclipsys' integrated Sunrise Enterprise clinical solutions --Sunrise Clinical Manager[TM], Sunrise Emergency Care[TM] and Knowledge-Based Charting[TM], which also reside on the Eclipsys XA[TM] platform. With integrated administrative, financial and clinical applications, Blessing's authorized system users will gain single log-on access to patient demographics, scheduling information and electronic medical records (EMRs) to create a seamless care environment across multiple venues without administrative disruptions.
