BlazeSports Clubs of America seeks NRPA applicants. (Tip-Off).The U. S. Disabled Athletes Fund is accepting applications from NRPA-member community recreation providers to become a BlazeSports Club of America program in 2003. The BlazeSports Clubs of America program is offered by USDAF USDAF United States Disabled Athletes Fund in partnership with NRPA NRPA National Recreation and Park Association NRPA Natural Resources Protective Association (Staten Island, NY) NRPA Niagara Regional Police Association (Canada) NRPA National Rifle and Pistol Association and provides community-based sports training Sports training refers to specialized strategies and methods of exercise used in various sports to develop athletes and prepare them for performing in sporting events. Sports training methods and competition opportunities for youths and adults with physical disability. The goal of the program is establishing a network of sports and physical activity clubs across America for those with physical disability. The national BlazeSports program was launched last March 2002 at the Salt Lake City Winter Paralympic Games Par·a·lym·pic Games pl.n. An international competition for athletes with disabilities. [para-1 + (O)lympic. with the announcement of the selection of nine programs in six states. These providers began offering the program to their communities this fall. Ten new programs will be added each year in 2003 and 2004. BlazeSports Clubs of America provide community-based sports training and competition opportunities for children and adults who are wheelchair users, have a visual impairment Visual Impairment Definition Total blindness is the inability to tell light from dark, or the total inability to see. Visual impairment or low vision is a severe reduction in vision that cannot be corrected with standard glasses or contact lenses and , an amputation amputation (ăm'pyətā`shən), removal of all or part of a limb or other body part. BlazeSports Clubs of America partners with local communities by providing training for community staff, training materials, resource support and ongoing program technical support, along with providing regional camps and clinics that are available to the BlazeSports Club community programs. To be selected, a community recreation provider must demonstrate capability in a number of areas, including experience, staffing, programming and recruitment.
