Blaze damages allotment area; INBRIEF.


ALLOTMENT holders were picking up the pieces today after a fire ravaged plots in Saltburn. Firefighters were called to the Hazel hazel, any plant of the genus Corylus of the family Betulaceae (birch family), shrubs or small trees with foliage similar to the related alders. They are often cultivated for ornament and for the edible nuts.  Grove allotments at 2.50am this morning. Two sheds were completely destroyed by the blaze. A dovecote, greenhouse and a fence were also damaged by flames. One fire engine and an all-terrain vehicle from Saltburn Fire Station, and an engine from Skelton attended.
